BLF vision is to establish a system where support and assistance is available to the students who are in need. Fund research that will improve the way mental health issues are diagnosed and treated.

BLF’s VISION

BLF is establishing a sustainable therapy assistance scholarship at the University of Texas. This is in addition to the academic scholarship that has already been established for Women in Engineering at UT. The future vision, is to establish a similar scholarship at other universities in Texas.

Mental health issues are becoming more prevalent among college students. We can make a difference by providing the support they need.

 

  • Mayo Clinic research shows that 44% of college students reported having symptoms of depression and anxiety.

  • Suicide is the third leading cause of death amount college students.

  • Nearly two-thirds of college students who develop substance abuse were found to suffer from mental health disorders such as depression and anxiety.
